Soooo much baseball lately. Five games in seven days! Plus tryouts for the high school summer team, plus practices! At least the school year is winding down. Can't wait for graduation!

Lame Blogger --- Busy Month
I know, I'm a lame blogger, but it's been kinda busy around here, and rainy. Why all the rain this spring? We don't live in Seattle. One whole weekend was spent up at Frostburg where my daughter will be in the fall and she had cheerleading tryouts, and she made the team for the fall, natch!!!!!! She's happy. They're going to do competitions, which she loves, including the big college one in Orlando in January. Super fun! They get to go to UCA camp in August, too! So she's already got a group of people she'll know when she gets to school in the fall. Happy, happy, happy.
We've also had a few baseball games, some have been rained out, some have been rescheduled. And we had the church confirmation for my son. That was quite a production. He's done, he's happy, and no more religion classes.
Now on to senior banquet, AP exams, internship reception, prom, graduation and graduation party. Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it all.
Meanwhile, I've been working a lot (I work at home transcribing), playing with the cat, and baking. I've noticed that my kids' friends come by a lot more if there is food at the house. All of my daughter's friends are expecting goodie boxes being mailed to them at college full of cookies and treats! That'll be fun.

Safeway Savings
I don't normally go to Safeway. I think it's outrageously overpriced. But I have been watching the sales flyers lately and have gotten some good deals. One being if you spend $25 on frozen foods, you'll get a coupon for $10 off your next trip for more frozen foods (think pizza, veggies, lean cuisine). So I bought everything on sale AND got $10 back. Then deal number 2 was buy 10 products from a list at various prices ranging from 75 cents to $2.50 on things like bagged salad (1.25), my daughter's fav. Fiber One bars ($2.50), to 32 oz gatorage (.75). You get the picture. Anyway, I spent a total of out-of-pocket $64.31 with savings of $39.19, plus my $10 for next time. I should have been better about gathering up more coupons, but I'm not very good at that. Maybe next week. Anyway, the frozen food deal is good through 3/31.
Baby Shower!
Went to my niece's baby shower yesterday. It was fun. So much food!!!!!!!!!! She got lots of nice things. She's having a girl, so everything was pink. My sister-in-law is such a fabulous cook, everything was so good. I made her a diaper cake (see photo), and some of Bakerella's cake pops. I'm not happy with how they turned out, though. They kept falling off the sticks. I'll have to make some more to perfect it. They sure were a hit, and quite yummy, if I do say so myself.

Surprise!
My daughter was awarded the Jaguar Award from her coach last week! This was so wonderful. The Jag Award goes to the team member who best represents their program on and off the field, voted by their peers. My daughter has been a varsity cheerleader her entire four years and has been co-captain the last two. This was a great honor for her and moved me to tears! Now if I could only get a picture of her WITH her plaque!

Monday Update
Whew!!! What a weekend. We had a basketball game, a basketball pizza party, a 2-day cheerleading competition, and we had THE SCHOOL TALK with our son. My husband reaaaaalllly wants him to go to the Catholic high school 30 minutes away, but he wants to go to the neighborhood public high school (walking distance). Lots of discussing back and forth, son is adament that he not be forced to go. I don't want to force him to go, but it's such a great school academically and he knows kids there already, but alas, not to be.
So the cheer competition was at George Mason University and daughter's squad (Dream Eternity Senior Level 4) came in first!!! They all got the cutest jackets!!! I'll try and sneak a picture of hers when she gets home.
Anyway, he's a shot from Saturday's competition (see above photo).
